Brian Leroy Rustvold

Brian LeRoy Rustvold, the son of Harold and Loretta (Borkowski) Rustvold, was born November 26, 1969 at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa and died June 29, 2019 from a ranger accident at Lake Ponderosa near Montezuma, Iowa at the age of 49 years, 6 months, and 3 days.
Brian was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Audubon. He attended the Audubon Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1988. Brian was employed at Louie’s Standard as a service mechanic. He then worked at Audubon Tractor Parts before working for Horizon Equipment.
On October 24, 1998, he was united in marriage to Rene Frampton at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon. He continued to work for Horizon Equipment until 2000 when he became the parts manager at Vetter Equipment in Audubon.
Brian was a member of the Audubon Fire Department from 1994 to 1998. He loved racing and was a champion racer in Hobby and Stock car racing and was crowned Rookie of the Year. Brian enjoyed mowing and always kept their lawn in immaculate condition. He enjoyed working with wood and steel. The many projects he created included furniture and a full bar in his home. Brian was happiest spending time with Rene and entertaining their many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Loretta Rustvold; and his grandparents: Walter and Hilda Borkowski, Roy Rustvold, Sr., Vernie and Carl Frederiksen, and Evelyn Frampton.
Survivors include his wife Rene Rustvold of Audubon, Iowa; his father Harold Rustvold of Audubon; his brother and sisters: Phillip Rustvold of Audubon and his daughters Melissa Olberding of Carroll, Iowa and Whitney Rustvold of Audubon; Cynthia Rustvold of Audubon and her daughter, Stacy and husband Dave Fischer of Iowa City, Iowa; Carla and husband Eric Christensen and their children Morgan, Connor, Braeden, and Greyson Christensen all of Audubon; Jana and husband André Burnside and their children Bennett and Jameson Burnside all of Kansas City, Missouri; Lindsey and husband Ryan Venteicher and their children Taryn and Tenley Venteicher all of Shawnee, Kansas; his father-in-law Jim Frampton of Audubon; his mother-in-law Katherine Frampton of Panora, Iowa; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bridget and husband Pat Obermeier of Audubon and their daughters Brittni and husband Cody Williams of Hamlin, Iowa, Kyra Obermeier and significant other Jake Williams of Audubon, and Sydney Obermeier of Audubon; Rachel and husband Dennis Reisberg and their children Harley, Aspen, and Parker Reisberg all of Bailey, Colorado; Justin and wife Dani Frampton and their children Bristol, Macyn, and Riggs Frampton all of Grimes, Iowa; his great nieces and nephews: Ryan Rustvold, Caylee and Camdyn Olberding, Luna Fischer, Ryker and Bennett Williams, and Weston Williams; numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Ben Unseth on Saturday morning, July 6, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon. The family will meet with friends Friday evening, July 5, 2019, at 5:00 P.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Honorary casket bearers will be the Audubon Fire Department, Phillip Rustvold, Eric Christensen, André Burnside, Ryan Venteicher, Pat Obermeier, Dennis Reisberg, and Justin Frampton. Casket bearers will be Jeff Deist, Matt David, Gage Sornson, Jesse Wanninger, Tyler Thygesen, Cody Williams, Jake Williams, Andrew Grabill, Brad Christensen, and Danny Budd.
