David "Hoss" Lynn Anderson

David “Hoss” Lynn Anderson, the son of H. Gene and Wynona (Jensen) Anderson, was born August 21, 1956, in Audubon, Iowa and died March 21, 2018, at the Panora Specialty Care in Panora, Iowa at the age of 61 years and 7 months.
David was baptized and confirmed at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa. He attended Viola Community Schools then graduated from the Audubon High School with the Class of 1975.
Dave worked for Talbot/Carlson, Inc. for several years. Dave was always a farmer at heart and loved helping his dad on the farm while growing up northeast of Audubon. He was employed as a farm hand for the Chambers brothers for many years and also raised hogs. He purchased an acreage in Guthrie County where he raised row crops. He decided to start a trucking career and hauled grain for local farmers and for local feed mills until he was forced to retire due to his failing health.
David loved farming and driving his truck. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and other programs on T.V. and would often drive around the country side “pick-up farming.”
David was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Lars and Dorothy Jensen; his paternal grandparents, Martin and Margaret Anderson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Survivors include his children: William Joseph and wife Morgan Anderson of Exira, Iowa, Laura Jo and husband Paul Knight of Carroll, Iowa; his grandson Cooper Anderson of Exira; his sisters: Dorothy Sloth, Diana and husband John Ballou all of Audubon, Iowa, Peggy and husband Larry Winegar of Runnells, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; his aunts: Ardis and husband Dale Eiben of Corpus Christi, Texas, Joyce Anderson of Eudora, Kansas; his former wife Kristyl Anderson of Exira; step daughter Katy Woods of Exira; other relatives and many friends.
The family will meet with friends on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at 5:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Kathy Kluis on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon. The casket bearers will be: Bill Anderson, Paul Knight, Kent Baier, Jerry Riesgaard, Kenny Deist, Jerry Jensen, and Doug Jensen.
