Diane Elaine Bladt

Diane Elaine Bladt, the daughter of Daniel and Hazel (Joens) Christensen, was born May 20, 1950 in Audubon, Iowa and died September 19, 2022, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 72 years, 3 months, and 28 days.

Diane was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Audubon. She attended the Audubon Community Schools graduating with the Class of 1968.

On October 13, 1973, she married Ronald Bladt at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Audubon. They lived south of the Elk Horn area. Diane was a stay-at-home mother then when the children were older, she became a nurse’s aide at the Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa for several years. She then was employed at the Veterinarian Clinic in Elk Horn for a short time. Diane was then diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She moved to the Friendship Home for a short time. Ronald died February 13, 1998 also from multiple sclerosis. Her condition became worse then moved to the Exira Care Center in 1999.

Diane was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church near Kimballton. She loved her dog, Chrissy. She always had a positive attitude and also had many interesting and positive sayings.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Ronald; her parents; and her sister-in-law Zelda Marxen.

Survivors include her children Jeff Albert and special friend Sheila Partridge and Jason Steen and fiancé Tammy Young all of Kimballton, Iowa; Cory Albert and Nathan and wife Kendra Bladt all of Audubon, Iowa; her grandchildren Danielle Albert of Kimballton; Jeremy Albert of Exira, Iowa; Paige Hulne of Omaha, Nebraska; Ashley Love of Marion, Iowa; Javyn Bladt of Ankeny, Iowa and Adelyn and Irelyn Bladt both of Audubon, Iowa; 2 great grandchildren Landon Pick/Albert of Omaha, Nebraska and Letty Blum of Kimballton, Iowa; her brother Ken Christensen; her nieces Tami Shellberg of Oakland, Iowa and Paulette and husband Terry McHugh of Ankeny, Iowa; other relatives and friends.

The family will meet with friends on Friday afternoon, September 23, 2022, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dan Beattie on Friday afternoon September 23, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Interment will be in the Arlington Heights Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa. The casket bearers will be Darin Jensen, Cindy Hansen, Javyn Bladt, Danielle Albert, Jeremy Albert and Ashley Love.
