Donna Jean Paske

Donna Jean Paske, the daughter of Jesse and Laura Johnson Griffin was born March 20, 1930, at the Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Illinois and died July 29, 2013 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 9 days. Donna was baptized in the Methodist Church in Rockford, Illinois. She attended Rockford Community Schools in Rockford, Illinois graduating with the High School Class of 1947. Donna and Richard meet on V-Jay Day in 1945, and then became high school sweethearts which became a 63 year long love story. On August 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Richard Paske, Sr. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rockford. Four children: Pam, Jan, Rick, and Gayle were born to this union. She worked many various jobs throughout her years but was mostly busy as a homemaker raising and taking care of her four children. In 1971, they moved to Audubon, Iowa from Illinois and many places in between, finally their last move was to Carroll, Iowa in 2009. Donna was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon, Iowa. Donna was a wonderful hostess who enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. Donna and Richard loved to travel overseas and within the United States. They spent the winters in Green Valley, Arizona for 17 years until her health started to fail. But most of all she loved reminiscing the wonderful memories with her husband Richard, her children and grandchildren. Preceding her death was her grandson Matthew Wallander; her infant grandson Scott Klever; her parents; her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Donald and wife Evelyn Paske; and Morris Paske. Survivors include her husband Richard Paske, Sr. of Carroll, Iowa; her children: Pam Paske of Creston, Iowa; Jan and husband Ken Griffith of Des Moines, Iowa; Richard Paske, Jr. of Audubon, Iowa; and Gayle and husband Randy Klever of Audubon; her grandchildren: David Wallander of Creston; Grant Klever and special friend Sarah Caldwell of Otho, Iowa; Christine and husband Andrew Gschwind of Waukee, Iowa; her great granddaughter Jaiden Wallander of Indianola, Iowa; her sister Lynn and husband Jack Reising of Tucson, Arizona; her sister-in-law Mary Lou Paske of Rockford, Illinois; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.

Service:
Funeral services will be Friday, August 2, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon, Iowa.
