Elizabeth "Beth" Ann Olsen

Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Olsen, the daughter of Louis and Margaret (Wulf) Hill, was born October 2, 1956, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa and died peacefully at her home in Exira, Iowa at the age of 59 years, 4 months, and 9 days.
Beth was baptized at the Exira Christian Church in Exira, Iowa. She attended the Exira Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1974. Beth studied an End of Life Nursing Program at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. She returned to Exira and was employed as an aide at the Exira Elementary School.
On June 12, 1976, she was united in marriage to Tim Allen Wilson at the Exira Christian Church in Exira, Iowa. Three children Ashley, Tyler and Cody were born to this union. Tim died October 2, 1986. Beth worked for several area businesses then was employed in the book keeping department of Larsen Ford.
On September 13, 1989, she married Frank Olsen at their home in Exira, Iowa. The two families became one and they enjoyed raising the children together. Beth continued to work at Larsen Ford until 1999 when she transferred to the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa where she was employed in the Medical Records Department. She worked at the Hospital until she had to retire due to her failing health in 2012.
Beth was an active member of the Exira Christian Church in Exira, Iowa. Having to deal with cancer on a day to day basis, Beth drew upon her own experiences to talk with and counsel other patients who were experiencing the many thoughts and emotions involved with having cancer. Beth enjoyed helping at the Exira Public Library, quilting, and spending time with her family especially the grandchildren.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Margaret Hill; her brother Larry Hill; her son-in-law Jason Edwards who was a victim of a violent crime and died the day following her death; and husband Tim Allen Wilson.
Survivors include her husband Frank Olsen of Exira, Iowa; her children Ashley and husband Andy VanAernam and Tyler and wife Brookelyn Wilson all of Exira, Iowa, Cody and wife Jessica Wilson of Pierson, Iowa, Shawn and wife Angela Olsen of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Chad and wife Anne Olsen of McKinney, Texas, and Tonya Edwards of Papillion, Nebraska; her grandchildren Clayton and Elizabeth VanAernam, Cayden, Tesla, and Coulter Wilson, Kyler and Karli Olsen, Maggie, Wade, and Katelyn Olsen, and Kayla and Amara Edwards; her sisters Judy Payne of Durham, North Carolina and Jane and husband Larry Jessen of Exira, Iowa; her mother-in-law Beverly and husband Carl Olsen of Exira, Iowa; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Judy Hill of Exira, Iowa, Terry and wife Nancy Wilson of Exira, Iowa, and Taylor and wife Dee Wilson of Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Glen Meyers on Monday, February 15, 2016; at 10:30 A.M. at the Exira Christian Church in Exira, Iowa Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery in Exira, Iowa. The casket bearers will be Tyler Wilson, Cody Wilson, Andy VanAernam, Shawn Olsen, Chad Olsen, and the late Jason Edwards. The family will meet with friends on Sunday afternoon February 14, 2016, from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa.
