Elizabeth Rose Hansen

Elizabeth Rose Hansen, the daughter of Sandi Hocamp and Bryan Hansen, was born December 19, 1991, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa and died August 17, 2010, in an auto accident southeast of Exira, Iowa at the age of 18 years, 7 months, and 28 days.
Elizabeth was baptized at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa and confirmed at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira, Iowa. She attended Exira Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 2010. She was planning on attending Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa majoring in Environmental Studies to become a Conservation Officer.
Elizabeth was a member of the Exira Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir. She was a 4-H member. Elizabeth loved horses and was a member of the Audubon County Saddle Club where she had served as the Audubon County Saddle Club Queen in 2009. She was an avid fisherman and developed a love for farming, helping her Grandpa Gary operate his farm. Elizabeth was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan and was an avid NASCAR fan supporting her favorite driver Mark Martin. Elizabeth always wore a smile and never knew a stranger. She loved her family, had a huge heart, and specialized in giving awesome hugs.
Preceding her in death were her grandfather: Gary Hocamp; her step-grandmother: Carol Jayne, her great- grandparents: Glen and Norine Hocamp, Merlin and Vera Smith, Jimmie and Irma Willey, Ronald Hansen, Sr.; and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include her mother: Sandi Hocamp and her fianc Fred Cavallaro both of Exira, Iowa, her father: Bryan and wife Suzi Hansen of Brayton, Iowa; her step-sisters and step-brothers: Beth Siedelmann of Audubon, Iowa, Christa Nunnally and Cody Barnes both of Iowa City, Iowa, Michael Allen of New York City, New York; her grandparents: Marilyn Hocamp of Exira, Elwood and wife Jeanie Hansen of Atlantic, Iowa, her step-grandparents Claude Jayne of Exira and Karen Johnson of Exira, her great-grandmother Gladys V.I. Hansen of Kearney, Nebraska; her aunts and uncles: Paul and wife Christie Hocamp of Atlantic, Steve Hocamp of Exira, Sharry and husband Matt Schrier of Exira, Becky and husband Mike Dreager and Brenda and husband Brad Gettler all of Atlantic, Claudette Jayne, Sally Smith and Jim Andersen all of Exira, Rex Andersen and Denny Juhl both of Brayton, Rich and wife Lisa Andersen of Wiota, Iowa; other family members and many friends.

The honorary casket bearers will be Stormi Peterson, Michael Hocamp, Clint Hansen, Brett Dreager, Aly Mae Dreager, Roni Gettler, Cody Gettler, Christa Nunnally, Luke Lauritsen, R.J. Lauritsen, Jake Lauritsen, Tina Zwifel, Beth Nichols, Monica Boos, Dawn Wolfe, Beth Siedelmann and the late Chad Hansen. The casket bearers will be Mark Lutz, Andy Smith, Jerry Thompson, Mike Ostrus, Shawn Majerus, Shane Majerus, Rob Clausen, and Joe Houston.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Sunday evening August 22, 2010 at 6:00 at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Steven Frock on Monday, August 23, 2010, at 10:30 A.M. at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira, Iowa.
