James Mason Edwards

James Mason Edwards, the son of Dale and Ruth (Campbell) Edwards, was born January 12, 1948, at St. Anthony’s Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa and died May 5, 2014, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 66 years, 3 months, and 23 days. Jim was baptized and confirmed at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon. He attended Viola Consolidated School in Viola Center, Iowa and then graduated from the Audubon High School with the High School Class of 1966. Jim studied at the Muscatine Community College in Muscatine, Iowa for a short time before joining his father’s business Edwards Chemco. On March 28, 1970, he was united in marriage to Donna Killeen at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa. One daughter Jessica was born to this union. They moved to Burley, Idaho in 1971where Jim was employed as an automobile salesman at Bonanza Motors. In 1985, Jim returned to the Audubon area where he was engaged in farming and worked various jobs until 1999. He then was employed by Sovde Enterprises, a pipeline company in Minnesota where he was responsible for the construction and inspection of gas pipeline being installed in the northern states until he retired in 2013. Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa. In 1967, he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1973. He was a member of the Dedham American Legion Post #20 in Dedham, Iowa. He was a very social person and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Gregory Edwards; his maternal grandparents Fred and Mabel Campbell and his paternal grandparents Roy and Gretta Edwards. Survivors include his daughter Jessica and husband Rich Baker of Coon Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren: Hannah, Emily, Cassidy, and Jace Baker all of Coon Rapids, Iowa; his parents Dale and Ruth Edwards of Audubon, Iowa; his brother Jeff and wife Susan Edwards of Vinton, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Wednesday evening at 5:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.

Service:
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa.
