James Robert "Jim Bob" Vesper

James “Jim Bob” Robert Vesper, the son of James Eldon and Deborah Sue (Jones) Vesper, was born October 7, 1984, in Audubon, Iowa, and died from injuries received in a falling accident on October 3, 2017, near Viborg, South Dakota at the age of 32 years, 11 months and 26 days.
James was baptized. He attended Audubon Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 2003. James then was employed with Hartl Industries traveling around the United States installing refrigeration equipment for a number of years.
On March 26, 2011, he was married and had three sons, Dominic, Johann, and Xavier. James worked for his brother-in-law at Lance Meaike Construction as a steel erector for several years. In July of 2012, he joined his brother, Johann’s business and was a Foreman for Erected Steel Pros.
James enjoyed drawing and was an avid reader. He liked to play video games and watch football on TV. But above all he loved spending time with his sons.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents Merlin and Pauline Jones and Bob Vesper.
Survivors include his sons Dominic, Johann, and Xavier all of Audubon, Iowa; his parents Jim and Deb Vesper of Ross, Iowa; his grandmother Eva Dean Vesper of Missouri Valley, Iowa; his brother and sisters Johann and wife Brandi Vesper, Laurie and husband Lance Meaike, and Toni Vesper all of Audubon, Iowa; his nieces and nephews Alyssa Vesper, Zach and wife Michelle Vesper, Justis Vesper, Bridget Vesper, Jordan Meaike, Jarrett Meaike, JoAnna Meaike, James Meaike, Joseph Meaike, and Layla Vesper all of Audubon, Iowa; his great nephews Bentley, Grayson, Lincoln, Salem, and Braxton; other relatives and many friends.
The family will meet with friends Saturday, October 7, 2017, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Doug Opp Saturday afternoon, October 7, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. The honorary casket bearers will be Alyssa Vesper, Bridget Vesper, Jordan Meaike, JoAnna Meaike, Jimmy Smith, and Steve Ridgley. The casket bearers will be Zach Vesper, Justis Vesper, Jarrett Meaike, Tom Vesper, Robert Glidden, and Adam Sievers. Following cremation the family will have a private gathering. The family prefers memorials which can be sent directly to the family at 5084 Jay Avenue, Audubon, Iowa 50025.
