Jean Louise Chase

Jean Louise Chase, the daughter of Howard and Helen (Gault) McCall, was born May 14, 1921, at her parent’s home in Greeley Township, Audubon County, near Exira, Iowa and died September 6, 2017, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 96 years, 3 months, and 22 days.
Jean Louise graduated from the Exira High School with the Class of 1938.
On April 20, 1940, she was united in marriage to Fred H. Chase at her parent’s home near Exira. From that union they had two daughters Gail and Jane.
Jean Louise was a member of the Federated United Church of Christ in Exira.
Preceding her in death was her husband Fred H. Chase; her daughter Gail Wahlert; her great grandson Stephan Chase Wahlert; her parents; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Doris and husband Harold Schwab, Marilyn and husband Paul Olsen, Ruth and husband Sherman Peppers, Meryl Flood, and Pat McGovern.
Survivors include her daughter Jane and husband Phil Woodruff of Lawton, Oklahoma; her son-in-law Dallas Wahlert of Monett, Missouri; her grandchildren Paul and wife Glenda Wahlert of Cassville, Missouri, Stephen Wahlert and Leah and husband Glen Aldridge all of Monett, Missouri, and Lisa Reed of Harrah, Oklahoma; her seven great grandchildren Stephanie, Aaron, Sarah, Douglas, Kristen, Betty Jane , and Trey; her four great-great grandchildren Eliza, Wheeler, Peter, and Emma; her sister Mary (McCall) McGovern of Austin, Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will meet with friends Saturday afternoon, September 16, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted by her grandson Pastor Paul Wahlert Saturday afternoon September 16, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira. Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery in Exira. The casket bearers will be Stephen Wahlert, Aaron Wahlert, Glen Aldridge, Douglas Aldridge, Mark Smith, Hugh McGovern, Philip Howe, and B.A. Glass.
The family prefers memorials to the Federated United Church of Christ in Exira, Iowa.
