Judith Victoria Porsch, the daughter of Herman A. and Elsie M. Avey Porsch, was born July 13, 1943 in Leroy Township, Audubon County, Iowa and died March 10, 2011, at her home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 67 years, 7 months, and 28 days.
Judy was baptized August 15, 1943, at the Trinity Lutheran Church northwest of Audubon and confirmed March 30, 1958 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon. She attended rural Audubon County schools then graduated from the Audubon High School with the Class of 1961. Following her graduation, Judy was employed at several businesses in the Audubon area. During this time she also did baby sitting and cleaned houses for several families. She then was employed as a clerk at the Places Store which later became the Pamida Store where she worked for over fifteen years. Due to her failing health, Judy was forced to retire in 2006.
Judy was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon. She served as a Sunday school teacher and helped with Vacation Bible School in the summers for many years. She also enjoyed bowling with her friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her father Herman A. Porsch and her grandparents.
Survivors include her mother Elsie Porsch of Audubon, Iowa; her brother Jo and wife Sally Porsch of Audubon; her nieces and nephews Angie and husband Terry Siedelmann of Audubon, Joel and wife Sherry Porsch of Kimballton, Iowa, Tracy and husband John Burns of Hamlin, Iowa, Travis and wife Colleen Porsch of Audubon; many great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Arlington Heights Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.
Visitation:
The family will meet with friends on Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.
Service:
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 14, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa.
