Keith was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Adair, Iowa. He attended Anita Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1971. Keith then attended classes at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri where he studied business accounting for a year. He returned to the Audubon area and was employed at Warren Oil Company which was located at “The Valley” where he serviced vehicles. Keith then drove a gravel truck for Shellburg Construction for several years. He graduated from a gravel truck to a semi and became an “over the road” trucker.
