Lizzie Frances Baier, the daughter of James and Lily Tollison Bates, was born January 30, 1925, at her parents home in Tipper, Mississippi, and died December 26, 2010, at the Friend ship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 26 days.
Frances was baptized and confirmed and attended school near Tipper, MS. She attended Beauty School and was employed as a beautician. Later she moved to Chicago, Illinois.
On September 18, 1954, she was united in marriage to Howard D. Baier in Chicago. They lived in Cicero, Illinois where Howard was an auto mechanic and Frances continued working as a beautician. In 1974 they moved to Audubon, Iowa to be near Howards family. Frances was a home maker for many years. Howard died February 15, 1984. Frances enjoyed her home then moved to the Friendship Home in Audubon in august of 2004.
Frances was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon. She enjoyed working outdoors on her lawn and going fishing. She loved animals and always had a pet dog. Frances was good hearted and was willing to lend a hand whenever it was necessary. She loved to take walks and doing crafts.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband Howard; her parents; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Burdell and husband Bob Jones and Otis J. and wife Roberta Baier.
She is survived by her nephew John Jones of Clive, Iowa; her niece Janet and husband Paul Clemmensen of Urbandale, Iowa; her grandnephews Andy and wife Andrea Clemmensen of Urbandale, Scott and wife Vanessa Clemmensen of Saratoga Springs, New York; her great nieces and great nephews Taylor and Carson Clemmensen of Urbandale, Olivia Clemmensen of Saratoga Springs; other relatives and friends.

Inurnment will be in the Arlington Heights Cemetery.

Graveside memorial services will be conducted by Pastor Doug Opp on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at the Arlington Heights Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.
