Margaret spent her childhood years in the Waukee area. She was baptized in the Christian Church and was very active in the many activities especially the musical groups. Margaret attended the Waukee Community Schools. She enjoyed playing basketball during her school years. Following her graduation from High School, she attended the Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines, Iowa then was employed at the State Treasurers Office.
On November 26, 1938, she was united in marriage to Lewis Law in Des Moines, Iowa. She continued working in the State Treasurers office until 1940. They move to Downey, California where Lewis was employed in the aircraft industry for Vultee Aircraft as part of the massive war effort. After the end of the war in 1948, they moved to Audubon, Iowa and settled on a farm east of town. After many years of operating the farm, they moved into Audubon where Lew opened an automotive repair business named Lew Law’s Service. Margaret did most of the record keeping for the business. They retired in 1974 and travelled to Death Valley in the winter and Yellowstone Park in the summer. They finally settled in Bullhead City, Arizona and lived there until Lew died on November 10, 1987. In 1989, Margaret moved back to Audubon where she resided at the Friendship Village until health concerns necessitated that she move into the Friendship Home.
During her life Margaret held many positions and performed various duties. Some of her employment included working at the Audubon County ASCS Office, The Audubon County Memorial Hospital, accounting for Ron Christiansen Motors, and the count room at the Casino in Laughlin, Nevada.
