Marie Anna Jensen

Marie Anna Jensen, the daughter of Clifford and Myrtle (Davis) Bush, was born October 6, 1925, in Flora, Indiana and died July 13, 2016, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 90 years, 9 months, and 7 days.
Marie was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon, Iowa. She attended the Audubon Community /Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1943. Marie moved to Waterloo, Iowa where she was employed at the Rath Packing Plant as a secretary for several years. She returned to Audubon and was a legal secretary for Clark Mantz law firm for several years.
On September 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Vern Woodrow Jensen at her mother’s home in Audubon. They were blessed with one son Lee. Marie was a home maker for many years but as their business grew she did the bookkeeping for Southside Welding in their home. Marie and Vern enjoyed traveling especially to Oklahoma, Wyoming, California, and Denmark. Vern died on July 29, 2012. Marie enjoyed her home then moved to the Friendship Home in Audubon and in 2014 moved to the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa.
Marie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon, Iowa. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for several years and volunteered at the Bloodmobile for many years. Marie loved cats and dogs and never turned a stray away. She was a good cook and was well known for the pies she baked and took to the workers at Southside Welding every day. Marie was an avid collector and collected plates, stamps, Snoopy Memorabilia, Shirley Temple movies, and many other items. But most of all she enjoyed being with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death in addition to her husband Vern were her parents, and her brother Phillip O. Bush.
Survivors include her son Lee and wife Linda Jensen of Audubon, Iowa; her grandchildren Brenda Turner and special friend Cass Muzney, Jerome and wife Hope Jensen and Valerie Marie Jensen Bauer and husband Brian all of Audubon, Iowa; her great grandchildren Kenedee Turner, Jasmine Turner, Gwen Jensen, Audrey Jensen, Jocelyn Chambers, Corbin Vern Chambers, Macey Bauer, and Noah Muzney all of Audubon, Iowa; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Kelley Pedersen on Saturday morning, July 16, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa. Honorary casket bearers will be Corbin Vern Chambers and Neil Jensen. Casket bearers will be Jerome Jensen, Brian Bauer, Cass Muzney, John Whetzal, Terry Baier, Don Rustvold, and Brian “Barney” Baier. The family will meet friends Saturday morning, July 16, 2016, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.
