Marlan 'Pete' Lee Feltner, Sr.

Marlan Pete Feltner, the son of Opal Grace Sheets, was born September 30, 1936, at his grandparents home John and Cluppia Feltner in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa and died April 26, 2010 at the Friendship Hone in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 27 days.
Marlan attended Audubon Community Schools and Audubon High School. He enlisted in the United States Army on September 27, 1955. During his tour of duty he served as a mechanic in the 25th Signal Battalion Company. He was honorably discharged on September 18, 1958.
On June 4, 1960, he was united in marriage to Helen Ihnken in Atlantic, Iowa. Five children were born to this union. They lived in Wiota, Iowa and later moved back to Atlantic. Pete worked construction for a short time, and then was employed by Atlantic Municipal Utilities for several years. He later worked for several other construction and trucking businesses. He worked for Agriland FS hauling hazardous chemicals until he retired in the fall of 2009.
He was a member of the V.F.W. in Audubon and Anita.Pete was an avid reader and enjoyed reading Louie Lamore Westerns. He also enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR. He loved to gamble on dog races and horse races.
Preceding him in death is his mother and his grandparents.
Survivors include his children: Marlan Bart L. Feltner, Jr. of Exira, Iowa; Darla R. and husband Perry Wilson of Montezuma, Iowa; Robin Siemer of Dow City, Iowa; Jeff Feltner of Atlantic, Iowa; Cory and wife Brandi Feltner of Griswold, Iowa; his 7 Grandchildren: Mitch Wilson and Shelby Wilson both of Montezuma; Zach Siemer and Renea Siemer both of Dow City; Ciara Renshaw-Feltner of Kirkman, Iowa; Taber Feltner and Tosh Feltner both of Griswold;his aunt: Deloris (Tiny) Feltner of Audubon; his brother:Ronnie Feltner of Dumas, Texas; his cousins:Lyle Sheets and Roger Sheetsboth of Audubon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation:
The family will gather with friends to celebrate Petes life on Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.
