Patricia Ann Hansen

Patricia Ann Hansen, the daughter of Fred and Elloween Mardesen Crees, was born March 13, 1935 at her grandparents home in rural Audubon County near Exira, Iowa and died August 30, 2011 at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 76 years, 5 months, and 17 days. Pat was baptized at the Exira Christian Church in Exira, Iowa. She attended Exira Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1953. Pat moved to Washington State for a short time, then returned to the Audubon area and was employed at Carlson Hybrid. On August 15, 1954 she was united in marriage to John A. Hansen at the Exira Christian Church. Three children Cindy, Mike and Joni were born to this union. Pat truly enjoyed her life as a wife, homemaker and mother. She was a working partner on their farm and their well drilling business which they operated for over 32 years. John died July 28, 1992. Pat enjoyed traveling with her family and friends and enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the many different casinos. Pat was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa and a member of the Women’s Circle. She also was a member of the neighborhood club. She enjoyed reading, watching T.V. and putting puzzles together. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband; is her great granddaughter Hadleigh Griffin; her parents; her infant brother Tommy Crees; her brother Charles Crees; her brothers-in-law: Levi Hansen and Paul Hansen; her sister-in-law Joyce and husband Leroy Jensen; and her dear friend Elaine Jensen. Patricia is survived by her children: Cindy and husband Mark Miller of Audubon, Iowa; Mike and wife Pam Hansen of Des Moines, Iowa; Joni and husband Doug Griffin of Exira, Iowa; her grandchildren: Jana and husband Brent Knights of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; Rod and wife Theresa Miller of Olathe, Kansas; Mike and wife Linda Miller of Grimes, Iowa; Josh and wife Nicki Klever of Audubon; Mark J. and wife Rachael Miller of Grimes; Melissa and husband Brice Lippert of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Samantha and husband Lucas Wheeler of Cambridge, Iowa; Curtis and wife Stacey Griffin of Glenwood, Iowa; Cody Griffin and Brady Griffin both of Exira; 16 great grandchildren; her sister Raydell and husband Robert Wahlert of Walford, Iowa; her sisters-in-law: Lovila Hansen and Linda Hansen both of Audubon; her good friend Roma Murray of Audubon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends on Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Doug Opp on Friday, September 2, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran in Audubon, Iowa.
