Ralene Rae Knudsen

Ralene R. Knudsen, the daughter of Royce and Arlene (Kragel) Malone, was born December 8, 1956, in Denison, Iowa and died April 1, 2015, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 58 years, 3 months, and 23 days.
Ralene was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in Sioux City, Iowa. She attended school in Harlan, Iowa. Ralene moved to San Clemente, California and was employed as the office manager for Phil’s Pumping.
Ralene returned to Iowa and on January 4, 1979, she was united in marriage to Phillip Knudsen at his parent’s home in Harlan, Iowa. One daughter, Roycene was born to this union. They returned to California and continued operating Phil’s business.
Later in 1989 Ralene returned to Iowa and lived in Audubon, Iowa for a short time then in 1991 moved to Carroll, Iowa. She attended college in Carroll and worked various jobs. She then started her own cleaning business and cleaned for Kelly Coin for many years until she had to retire due to her failing health. She had a thirst for knowledge and enjoyed reading, writing and studying a variety of subjects. She enjoyed walking around the community. But most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ralene was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Kip Todd Mack.
Survivors include her daughter Roycene Knudsen and Fiancée James “Tony” Sanchez of Carroll, IA; her grandchildren: Lucas Smith, Alexander Sanchez and Reyna Sanchez, all of Carroll, IA; her sister, Kathy and husband Ed Mack of Hamlin, IA; her brother Kip and wife Jenny Malone of Denison, IA; her Ex-husband Phillip Knudsen of Mission Viejo, CA; her uncle Ronald and wife Shirley Kragel of Arizona; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
