Ruth Della Foresman

     Ruth Della Foresman, the daughter of Sam and Katherine Louise (Kolb) Stonoff, was born October 21, 1933 in Burlington, Iowa and passed away November 25, 2022, at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center, Iowa at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 4 days.

     Ruth was baptized and confirmed at the First United Methodist Church in Burlington. She graduated from Huron Consolidated School north of Burlington and then attended Burlington Junior College. Following college, she worked as a secretary.

     On July 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Max Duain Foresman at the First United Methodist Church in Burlington, Iowa. They moved to Max’s family farm near Guthrie Center, Iowa and were blessed with two children, Janet and Brian. Ruth did custom sewing in her home while raising their children. The family moved to Audubon, Iowa in 1969. Ruth then worked as a legal secretary for 25 years before retiring.

     Ruth and Max were active members of Bowman Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Guthrie County, and after moving to Audubon, became active members of the First United Methodist Church in Audubon. Ruth was a talented seamstress and quilter and an avid reader.

     Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Max in 2008 and son, Brian in 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Janet and husband Kevin Hircock of Adel, Iowa; grandchildren Cody and wife Ainslie Hircock of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Molly and husband Graham Gibson of Urbandale, Iowa; and Taylor and wife Marcie Hircock of Carroll, Iowa; as well as her great-grandchildren Reagan and Camille Gibson, Blake, Calvin, and Margo Hircock; her brother, Carl and wife Roberta Stonoff of Oakville, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

     The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening, November 29,2022, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted by Kevin Hircock on Wednesday morning, November 30, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bowman Chapel near Guthrie Center, Iowa. Casket bearers will be Cody Hircock, Taylor Hircock, Graham Gibson, and Lynn Zajicek.
