Tori Suzanne Spencer

Tori Suzanne Spencer, the daughter of Tim and Peggy (Jorgensen) Wahlert, was born January 19, 1976, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska and passed away September 14, 2015, at her father’s home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 39 years, 7 months, and 25 days.
Tori was baptized and confirmed at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa. She attended Audubon Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1994. She then was employed as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the Friendship Home in Audubon.
On February 21, 1995, she was united in marriage to Kip Spencer in Audubon. Two children Gage and Hannah were born to this union. Tori continued to work as a CNA at the Friendship Home then was a Ward Clerk at the Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan, Iowa. During this time, she attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa graduating in 2001 as a Licensed Practical Nurse and the Class Valedictorian of her class. Tori worked at the Myrtue Memorial Hospital for several years, and then was employed as head of the Chronic Confusion Dementing Illness unit at the Friendship Home in Audubon until January of 2012 when she had to retire due to her failing health.
Tori was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Audubon. Tori loved listening to music. She was an avid reader and enjoyed learning. She enjoyed shopping and being her own person which sometimes shocked people. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being a nurse, being a big sister and an Aunt.
Preceding her in death were her grandmothers Audrey J. Jorgensen and Ardyth Y. Wahlert; her grandfather Dayle A. Wahlert; her father-in-law Dave Borkowski; her uncle Darwyn Wahlert and her cousin Nathan and wife Lindsay Knudsen.
Survivors include her husband Kip Spencer of Audubon, Iowa; her children Gage Spencer and Hannah Spencer both of Audubon; her mother Peggy and husband John Weighton of Audubon; her father Tim Wahlert of Audubon; her sister Trisha and husband Jeff Nielsen of Audubon; her nieces and nephew Adrianne Nielsen of Des Moines, Iowa, Jayden Nielsen and Katelyn Nielsen both of Audubon; her grandfather Erick John Jorgensen of Audubon; Her mother-in-law Valerie Stetzel of Brayton, Iowa; her father-in-law Gary Stetzel of Atlantic, Iowa; her brother-in-law Koby Stetzel of Wiota, Iowa; her sister-in-law Misty and husband J.D. Ginapp of Afton, Oklahoma; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Kathy Kluis on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon. The honorary casket bearers will be J.D. Jorgensen, Troy Jorgensen, Lynn Wahlert, Doug Wahlert, and Mark Wahlert. The casket bearers will be Jesse Jorgensen, Trent Jorgensen, Johann Vesper, Dave Andreasen, Koby Stetzel, and John Wahlert. The family will be meeting with friends on Friday evening September 18, 2015, at 5:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.
