Ada Ilien Fiebelkorn, the daughter of John and Opal (Welch) Schroeder, was born December 7, 1940, in Winner, South Dakota and died on June 7, 2022, at the Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa at the age of 81, years and 6 months.
Ada was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Winner, South Dakota. She attended the Winner Community School and was a member of the Class of 1958.
On October 3, 1959, she was united in marriage to George Fiebelkorn in Pierre, South Dakota. They were blessed with five children Rick, Deb, Martha, Kim and Randy. They lived in South Dakota where Ada was a homemaker for a number of years. In 1969 they moved to Vail, Iowa, and then later moved to the Audubon area. When the children became school age, Ada worked as a waitress and cook. She studied and received her CNA certificate and was a nurse’s aide at the Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. Later she worked at Jumbo Jack’s putting cookbooks together until she retired.
Ada loved to cook and bake. She always had a large vegetable garden and loved tending to her flower garden. Ada also loved sewing, embroidering and crocheting. Ada also enjoyed going on family vacations during the summers. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were; her grandsons Nic Baier and Case Jacob Wilson; her parents John and Clara Schroeder and Opal and John Geaghan; her infant brother Alvan John Schroeder and her brother Bernard Schroeder; her sister Mary Hendricksen; her brothers-in-law Butch Fiebelkorn, Bill Fiebelkorn, Kenny Fiebelkorn and sister-in-law Vivian and husband Jim Clifford.
Survivors include her husband George Fiebelkorn of Atlantic, Iowa; her children: Rick Fiebelkorn and Mavis of Kimballton, Iowa; Deb and husband Ron Hensel of Atlantic, Iowa; Martha and husband Kevin Baier of Lewis, Iowa; Kim Fiebelkorn and Bruce of Grimes, Iowa; Randy and wife Brandy Fiebelkorn of Exira, Iowa; her grandchildren Alan and wife Mariko Jackson, George and Andrea Fiebelkorn, Becky and Josh Johnson, Liz King and Dale, Caroline King and Dustin and John King and Taylor, Zack Baier, Trent Baier, Tyler and Millie Fiebelkorn, Jacob and Samantha Fiebelkorn, Brooke and husband Tyler Wilson, Robin Hensel and Adam and wife Whitney Hensel; 16 great-grandchildren: Drake and Amaya Jackson, Emma and Ricky Fiebelkorn, Bella Davis and Sideon Moore, Hailey and Lillian Hensel, Kaya, Ben and Maddie Fiebelkorn, Ryder, Jayden, Rayden, Jayce, and Jozey Fiebelkorn, and Trigger and Koy Wilson and Mason Johnson; her brothers-in-law Donald and wife Diane Fiebelkorn of Gregory, South Dakota, and sisters-in-law Lanora Schroeder of Riverton, Wyoming, Sherry Fiebelkorn of Exira, Iowa and Bonnie Fiebelkorn of Spokane, Washington; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Steven Frock on Monday morning, June 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa. The family will meet with friends Monday morning, June 13, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon. The casket bearers will be George Fiebelkorn, John King, Zach Baier, Alan Jackson, Trent Baier, Tyler Fiebelkorn, Jacob Fiebelkorn and Tyler Wilson.
