Agnes Zimmerline

Agnes G. Zimmerline, 93, of Adair, Iowa, died Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Caring Acres Nursing & Rehab in Anita, Iowa.

Agnes was born August 21, 1922, at her grandparents' home in Atlantic, Iowa, to Chris and Winnie (Matthews) Jorgensen. She grew up in the Fontanelle area and graduated from the Fontanelle High School in 1940.

She married Joe Zimmerline on September 19, 1942. Agnes worked as a rural school teacher, a farm wife, a bookkeeper for various businesses in the Adair area and for the title department for the Iowa Department of Transportation in Des Moines, IA

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Adair, IA, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, Adair Civic League, Adair County Historical Society, she was involved with the Adair Library, a past member of the Adair City Council and Mayor Pro Tem. She had also received the Iowa Governor's Volunteerism Award.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandsons, Brian Zimmerline and Dana Beaudine; five brothers; and three sisters.

Agnes is survived by her children; Kathy Hauschildt of Greenfield, IA, Jolene (David) Johnson of Ames, IA, Marilyn (Richard) Beaudine of Manchester, IA, Kevin (Denise) Zimmerline of Adair, IA and Peggy (Darwin) Grubbs of Adair, IA; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Edna Mae Finck of Indianola, IA; a sister-in-law, Shirley Jorgensen of Fontanelle, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with family will be from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Hockenberry Family Care in Adair, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church in Adair, Iowa.

Burial will be in Canby Friends Cemetery in Canby, IA.
