Albert Peterson

Albert Louie Peterson, 70, of Urbandale, Iowa, and formerly of Adair, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA.

Albert was born February 24, 1945, the son of Vernon and Virginia (Charles) Peterson. He grew up in the Adair-Casey area graduating from Adair-Casey High School with the class of 1963. On April 18, 1964, Albert was united in marriage to Mary Alyce Siedelmann at St. John's Lutheran Church in Casey, Iowa. He and Mary moved to Adel, IA, and lived there for many years. They then moved to Bouton, IA, where they resided until Mary's death on June 13, 2001. Albert then moved to Des Moines, IA, and eventually Urbandale, IA.

Albert worked for Pittsburg Steel in Des Moines and was a printer at various businesses throughout the Des Moines area until he retired.

Albert always enjoyed woodworking and making things for his children. He was a fan of NASCAR racing and loved to winter in Florida. His greatest love was for his grandchildren and the joy he got from spoiling them.

Albert will be deeply missed by his son, Curt (Sharlotte) Peterson of Van Meter, IA; his daughter, Connie (Dale) Brown of Redfield, IA; his grandchildren, Caden, Cason and Cohen Peterson; his brother, Rex (Michaelle) Peterson of Casey, IA; his sister, Shirley (Craig) Simmons of Muse, OK; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alyce Peterson, and his parents, Vernon and Virginia Peterson.

A memorial service will held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the Canby Friends Church in Canby, Iowa.

Burial of ashes will be in the Canby Friends Cemetery following the memorial service. Albert's family will take time for visitation during the luncheon at the church, after the burial of ashes.
