Annette Lynn Christensen

Annette Lynn Christensen (Crawley) passed away at her home on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 61 years, 10 months, and 11 days of age.

She was born on June 29, 1963, in Audubon, IA, to Harley and Edna Crawley (Young). Annette was raised in Exira, IA, and attended school there, where she ran track and earned many awards and ribbons.

She married Delmar Rudolph on June 12, 1982, and their two children were Rebecca Mahoney and Jesse Rudolph.

She spent the majority of her career at the Friendship Home in Audubon, IA, as a CNA/CMA. Taking care of others was one of her greatest joys. She built many lifelong friendships there with both coworkers and residents. Her huge heart and giving spirit showed through her work and felt by many.

She later married Steven Christensen on November 29, 2008, in Brayton, IA. When she was not spending time with friends and family, she could be found barefoot outdoors, camping, fishing, road tripping, taking pictures, reading, and telling jokes.

Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Christensen; parents, Harley and Edna Crawley; brother, James Crawley; stepson, Daniel Christensen; and nephew, Kristopher Crawley.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca (Corey) Mahoney of Missouri Valley, IA and Jesse (Jeanna) Rudolph of Carroll, IA; and step son Jon Christensen of Omaha, NE; Four brothers, Patrick (Bertha) Crawley of Massena, IA, Allen (Debbie) Crawley of Waynesville, MO, John (Becky) Crawley of Burwell, NE, Brent Crawley of Glidden, IA; Grandchildren, Carter Griffin of Atlantic, IA, Kyra (Kiana) Rudolph of Waseca, MN, Kira (Nate) Dentlinger of Stuart, IA, Madison (Payton) Mahoney of Council Bluffs, IA, Chloe Rudolph of Ida Grove, IA, Gavin Mahoney of Missouri Valley, IA, Broady and Emma Christensen of Omaha, NE.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Audubon, IA. Following the service, burial will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Kimballton.

A visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home in Audubon.
