Beverly Mae (Lauritsen) Maas, age 80, of Camas, WA, formerly of Atlantic, and an Audubon Native, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Camas, WA.
Beverly was born on December 12, 1944, in Audubon, Iowa, the youngest of five children born to Frederick and Anna (Jensen) Lauritsen. She grew up on the family farm in Audubon and graduated from Audubon Community School in 1963. She continued her education at Iowa Western Community College and later graduated with honors from Buena Vista University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
On December 27, 1970, Beverly married Gary Glenn Maas in Massena, Iowa. The couple made their home in Massena, where they raised two sons, Brently and Bradly.
Following her divorce in 1985, Beverly moved to Atlantic, Iowa, where she worked for 1st Whitney Bank and Trust until her retirement in 2010. During her time in Atlantic, she shared her love of antiques through her involvement with Questers.
In 2015, Beverly moved to Camas, Washington, to be closer to her family. She found a new community at Camas United Methodist Church, where she joined a women’s Bible study group. She also enjoyed crafting — especially quilting, crocheting, and card making — often giving her beautiful creations to family and friends.
Beverly’s greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her warmth, creativity, and steadfast faith touched all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers David and Bernard, and her sister Irene. She is survived by her brother Kenneth (Janet) Lauritsen; her sons Brently Maas and Bradly (Pamela) Maas; and her beloved grandchildren: Anna Maas (fiancé Carter Bertrand), Blake Maas, Paige Maas, and Jamie Maas. She is also remembered fondly by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
