Bonnie O. Mardi, 73, of Ponca, Nebraska, and formerly of Wiota, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 21, 2006, at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca.
Bonnie Opal Mardi was born August 5, 1932, in Wiota, Iowa, the daughter of Otis and Hyla (Robertson) Smith.
She graduated from the Wiota High School and moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she was married and worked for the Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. Bonnie lived in several other Nebraska towns before retiring to Ponca.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in the chapel at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic with the Reverend Gary DeGeest of the Atlantic First United Methodist Church officiating.
Committal services and interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Lewis, Iowa, followed by fellowship and lunch in the Community Room at Hockenberry Family Care.
Public visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continuing until service time at 1:00 p.m.
She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Mardi and his wife, Karen and David and his wife, Sandy Mardi, all of Omaha, Nebraska; 2 daughters, Debra Blezek and her husband, Kent of Tustin, California and Dianna Arehart of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren; one brother, Larry Smith of Anita, Iowa.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Hyla Smith, two sisters, Leola Deakin and Dorothy Dietrich; and a brother, Billy Smith.
The family requests memorials to Elms Health Care Center, Ponca, Nebraska.
Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic is in charge of the arrangements.
