Bonnie Sherman

Bonnie Lou Sherman, age 71, of Adair, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bonnie was born July 26, 1949, in Clarksville, IA, daughter to Burdean and Hattie (Bertram) Brockway. Bonnie grew up in Clarksville, IA, graduating from Clarksville High School in 1968. After high school she attended Hawkeye Tech to obtain a few business courses.

On October 27, 1983, she married Chancey Robert Sherman at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They later moved to Adair to be closer to family. Bonnie was a bookkeeper for 31 years for Sodexo Food Service based out of West Des Moines. She enjoyed cooking, watching NASCAR, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Chancey of Adair; daughter, Lori (Bob) Shaw of Adair; sister, Barb (Dan) Troyna of Allison, IA; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Shelly Bixenmann.

Visitation will take place from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., with the funeral starting at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 28, 2020, at the Hockenberry Funeral Home in Adair, IA. Burial will be at Sunnyhill Cemetery, Adair, IA, following the funeral service.

Masks and social distancing are required to be in attendance.
