Bradley Beschorner

April 27, 1967 — August 11, 2021

Bradley Alan Beschorner of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the age of 54, surrounded by family after an 11 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. His battle with pancreatic cancer showed his fight to take a battle head on. Despite the pain, he continued to be a warrior, staying strong and fighting to the very end.

Simplest pleasures brought Brad great joy. Brad didn’t know a stranger and his personality was contagious. If you were a stranger, you quickly became a life-long friend.

Brad was born in Atlantic, Iowa, on April 27, 1967, to Leo and Roberta (Glynn) Beschorner. He was raised in Wiota and attended Lincoln Elementary and Atlantic High School, graduating with the class of 1985. Brad then attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs for Auto Technology.

After college, Brad returned to the area working various jobs. In September 2010 he became employed with Lindeman Tractor and was there until his diagnosis in September 2020.

Brad was a member of the Atlantic Police Reserves for several years. He enjoyed being involved with the department and giving back to the community, especially at Christmas time, helping with Shop With a Cop and Family Dream Christmas, continuing to help after he was no longer a member of the department.

Brad enjoyed many hobbies but particularly hunting, boating, and camping, especially with family and friends. For 30 years, the first weekend in December Brad went deer hunting with the same group of “deer campers”. Brad’s final wish was to go boating one last time, which was made possible by a group of friends on July 24th.

Brad met the love of his life, Kim, December 1991, and again in early 1994. It became obvious they were a perfect match, marrying September 17, 1994. They were blessed with two daughters, Kaytie Jo and Kourtnie Marie. Through the years, he never missed the girls’ events, even fighting to stay healthy enough to walk Kourtnie down the aisle in May to marry Jesse, who he always said was never just a son-in-law, but always a son.

Brad was loyal and generous and always believed in treating others with kindness and respect.

Brad is survived by his greatest loves, Kim, Kaytie Jo of Council Bluffs and Kourtnie Marie (Jesse) Baier of Atlantic; grandchildren, Knox Nicholas and Eleanor Grace; father, Leo of Wiota; mother-in-law, Linda Carlson of Atlantic; sister, Lisa (Mike) Hughey of Harlan; brother-in-law, David Carlson of Walnut; nephews and nieces, Cody (Chelsea) Richards, Nick (Ashley Meeker) Carlson, Kyle Richards, Monica (Joe Schmidt) Carlson, Morgan (Brayden) Knudsen, and Kayla Hughey; great-nephews and nieces, Brayden, Conner, Elijah, Adylin, Easton, Emma, and Riley; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta; father-in-law, Darrell Carlson; and sister-in-law, Tracie Carlson.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Hockenberry Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA. with a committal to follow at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Atlantic.

A luncheon will be held at the Venue, 307 Walnut St. Atlantic, after the committal service.
