Carol Glynn

Carolyn Rose Glynn, 83, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Atlantic Nursing & Rehab in Atlantic, Iowa.

She was born January 13, 1932, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Joseph Patrick and Olive Kerns. Carol grew up in Pawtucket and attended Catholic girl's school. On January 7, 1949, she was married to Donald Glynn in Pawtucket, RI. After they were married, they lived in West Des Moines, IA from 1949 until 1954, at which time they moved to Atlantic.

Carol worked at Heithoff Furniture where she was in sales as well as in helping customers decorate their homes. She also worked for J.C. Penny and Spurgeons in Atlantic, IA.

She was a member of DOE, Catholic Daughters and Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she taught CCD.

Carol was an avid golfer, bowler, and she enjoyed dancing. She loved flowers, decorating homes, was an avid shopper, and a wonderful cook and baker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving son, Danny; brothers, Joseph and Edward Kerns.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Donald Glynn of Atlantic, IA; son, Randy (Valerie) Glynn of Louisville, NE; daughter, Pam (Lowell) Leefers of Omaha, NE; Nana to her loving grandchildren, Nicole (Kyle) Hill of Omaha, NE, Luke Leefers and Mari of Denver, CO, Nathan (Kate) Glynn of Lee Summit, MO, Casey Glynn and Tiffany of Omaha, NE, Brent (Kira) Leefers of Redondo Beach, CA and Jauron "Ronni" Leefers of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Golden, Harrington and Matilda Glynn of Lee Summit, MO and Mackenzie Brown-Leefers of Tucson, AZ (University of Arizona); and a sister, Peggy (Joseph) Walsh of Upper Marlboro, MD.

Mass of Christian Burial will at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday October 27, 2015, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, Iowa.

Family will visit with friends at a lunch in the Catholic Parish Center following the memorial service.

There will be a private family burial at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to family's wishes.
