Catherine Laverne Lansman

October 3, 1930 — December 24, 2015

Catherine LaVerne Lansman, the daughter of George Vern and Mildred (Porter) Partridge, was born October 3, 1930, in Great Falls, Montana and died December 24, 2015, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 21 days.
LaVerne was baptized April 5, 1931, and confirmed in Great Falls, Montana. She attended Billings Community Schools in Billings, Montana graduating with the High School Class of 1948. LaVerne then studied music and drama at Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa.
On July 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to David Lansman in Billings, Montana. They were blessed with five children Randy, Susan, Julie, Tom, and Kathy. They moved to Ross, Iowa where David helped operate the family seed corn business. LaVerne was a home maker helping to raise the children and also kept the books for the seed corn business. After the children were grown, LaVerne moved to her present home in Audubon, Iowa.
LaVerne was an active member of the Ross Calvary United Methodist Church in Ross, Iowa. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and was an avid reader. She enjoyed gardening and canning the produce but also enjoyed growing many different types of flowers. LaVerne had a wonderful voice and when she was younger she was a member of a singing trio and they sang for many weddings, anniversaries, and funerals. LaVerne was very artistic and was a gifted seamstress, painter, and very good in making pottery. She was active in the Audubon community serving as a volunteer for many civic organizations. She was a member of the Historical Society and was responsible for writing the grant for the sign. LaVerne was a member of the Audubon County Tourism Board and also the Southwest Iowa Tourism Board.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Else Lansman and her brothers Gerald Partridge and James Partridge.
Survivors include her children Randy and wife Cindy Lansman of Audubon, Iowa, Susan and husband Mike Weber of Manning, Iowa, Julie and husband Gary Stone of Clive, Iowa, Tom and wife Lisa Lansman of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Kathy Lansman and Ed Brady of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandchildren Preben and wife Ashley Lansman of Adel, Iowa, Palle and wife Hege Lansman of Audubon, Iowa, Torben and wife Nereida Lansman of San Luis, Arizona, Mandy and husband Troy Wessel of Audubon, Iowa, Jessica and husband Cory Schmidt of Adel, Iowa, Eric and wife Kate Weber of Manning, Iowa, Chelsea Stone and fiancé Marc LePera of West Des Moines, Iowa, Kelli Stone of Clive, Iowa, Drake Lansman of Bettendorf, Iowa, Erica Lansman and Nico Ramirez of New York City, New York, and Nik Lansman of Des Moines, Iowa; Her great grandchildren Amalie and Kodi Lansman of Audubon, Iowa, Ayla and Nihls Lansman of Adel, Iowa, Ada and Anders Lansman of San Luis, Arizona, Keaton, Braden, and Carson Wessel of Audubon, Iowa, Gwyneth and Siena Schmidt of Adel, Iowa, Brody Weber of Manning, Iowa, Kamren Kelso of Clive, Iowa, and Aleea Lansman of Des Moines, Iowa; her sisters-in-law Keiko Partridge of Carlsbad, California, and Ella Mae Partridge of Las Vegas, Nevada; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Steven Daiker on Monday, December 28, 2015, at 10:30 A.M. at the Ross Calvary United Methodist Church in Ross, Iowa. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa. The honorary casket bearers will be her granddaughters Jessica Schmidt, Mandy Wessel, Chelsea Stone, Kelli Stone, and Erica Lansman. The casket bearers will be her grandsons Preben Lansman, Palle Lansman, Torben Lansman, Eric Weber, Drake Lansman, and Nik Lansman. The family will meet with friends Sunday afternoon, December 27, 2015, at 4:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.
