"Chop" Kluever

"Chop" Michael Duane Kluever was born on May 13, 1960, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Duane and Shirley Rogge Kluever. As an infant, he was baptized at the Anita United Methodist Church. Chop grew up on the family farm south of Anita. Growing up he loved to fish, ride motorcycles and golf. He attended school in Anita and was in the first graduating class in the new high school in 1978. Chop worked in a variety of jobs he loved, including raising hogs, construction, and as a groundskeeper at Crestwood Hills Golf Course. Chop was known by many and loved by all. He was a friend to everyone he met.

Chop's memory will be carried on by his two sisters, Mary Beth Christensen (Troy) and Diane McDermid (Doug); four nieces and nephews, Tara Littler Scholl (Cory), Amber Littler Chalupa (Corey), Aaron McDermid and Jesse McDermid; four great-nieces and nephews; aunts, Sharon Christensen and Betty Hyndman; and many cousins and friends.

After a short illness, he passed on June 14, 2016, and joined his parents, aunts, uncles and close friend Dave.

As per his wishes no funeral is planned but a memorial golf tournament will be held at Crestwood Hills Golf Course in Anita, Iowa, on July 9, 2016.
