Cindy Ann Holloway

Cindy Ann Holloway, the daughter of Dallas and Esther (Bates) Thomlison, was born April 1, 1960, in Omaha, Nebraska and died November 2, 2021, at her son’s home in Massena, Iowa surrounded by her family at the age of 61 years, 7 months, and 1 day.

Cindy was baptized at the Baptist Church. She attended the Omaha Public Schools and the Omaha High School.

On October 4, 1976, she was united in marriage to John Wesley Holloway in Rockport, Missouri. They were blessed with three children Shawn, Pamela, and Deborah. They lived in various communities in Iowa including Bedford, Odebolt, Aspinwall, Audubon, finally settling in Exira. Cindy worked as a Certified Nurses’ Aide in many of the communities. John was an over the road trucker who worked for other truck lines until 2012 when with Cindy’s help started Holloway Trucking. Cindy was the bookkeeper and managed the business for John until he retired. John died November 8, 2018. Cindy has continued as the bookkeeper for ASH Trucking Company. In addition to helping the trucking businesses she also enjoyed working part time at Chuck’s Bargain Barn east of Audubon, Iowa.

Cindy enjoyed having coffee and smoking. She loved to go on vacations and try her luck at the casinos. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid computer gamer. But her greatest passion was spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband John Holloway were her parents; her brother Charles and Elaine Knapp; her sister Shirley and Sid Pruitt; her brothers-in-law Ralph Holloway, Arthur Holloway, Sr., Virgil Holloway, Joe Holloway, Fred Kawik, and Al Schieffer; and her niece Rebecca Whittley.

Survivors include her children Shawn and wife Chasity Holloway of Massena, Iowa, Pamela Schumacher and Wayne Broad both of Carroll, Iowa and Deborah Summers of North Liberty, Iowa; her son-in-law Bill Schumacher of Rockwell City, Iowa; her grandchildren Dalton Schumacher, Davon Holloway, Preston Schumacher, Brad Holloway, Ryker Summers, Alexis Holloway, Payton Summers, Kendall Broad, and Kiersten Broad; her sister Donna Schieffer of Omaha, Nebraska; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Richard and wife Nancy Frederickson of Sioux City, Iowa, Viola Welch of Independence, Kansas, Lilly Buck and Albert and wife Kathy Holloway all of Manning, Iowa, Irvin and wife Dennice Holloway of Carroll, Iowa, Virgil Holloway of Springfield, Missouri, and Peggy Holloway of Atlantic, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family will meet with friends on Sunday afternoon, November 7, 2021, from 3:00p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Steven Frock on Monday, November 8, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa. Interment will be in the Resthaven Cemetery in LeMars, Iowa at 2:00 p.m. The casket bearers will be Scotty Holloway, Daniel Dinkel, Larry Wilkersen, Art Holloway, Bob Holloway, and Bill Schumacher.
