Clarabell Logemann

Clarabell Logemann, 87, of Massena, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018, at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Clarabell was born December 30, 1930, in Glenwood, Iowa, to Emsley M. and Florence L. (Lawson) Hickman. She grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1948.

She was married to Leonard C. Logemann on February 12, 1950, at the Baptist Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Following their marriage, they lived in rural Bennington, NE, for three years, spent three years in Benson, NE, and in 1956 moved to rural McClelland, IA, where Leonard farmed and had a herd of dairy cows. They moved to a farm near Cumberland, IA, in 1964 where they farmed until retiring in 1991 and moved into Massena.

Clarabell was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Massena, the Snappy Steppers and the Crazy 8s card club. She enjoyed embroidering, sewing and making quilts, flower gardening, putting puzzles together, and square dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; a son, Gary; and her siblings, Edward, Richard, Helen, Lee and James R.

Clarabell is survived by her sons, Donald (Sandy) Logemann of Osceola, IA, Ray (Theresa) Logemann of Flagstaff, AZ, Jerry (Roberta) Logemann of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Terry (Josie) Logemann of Norton, KS and Kenny Logemann; grandchildren, Leslie, Jackie, Laura, Justin, Nathan, Misty, Christel, Bryan, Kimberlee, Larry Jr., Jill and Michael; many great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Darlene Thietje and Deloris Smidth.

Visitation with friends and family will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa. Burial will be in the Victoria Township Cemetery near Massena, Iowa.

Memorials may be left to the Massena Fire Department.
