Darrell was a member of the Brayton Lutheran Church in Brayton and has served on the Brayton Lutheran Church Council. He loved to go fishing and especially looked forward to their many annual fishing trips with his dad, brother, and cousin. Darrell took much enjoyment following his grandchildren in all their sporting events and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
