David Hardy Robbs

David Hardy Robbs, the son of Cecil and Velma (Boe) Robbs, was born December 1, 1946, in Litchfield, Minnesota and died July 10, 2019, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 72 years, 7 months, and 9 days.
David was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Litchfield. He attended Litchfield Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1964. Following graduation, on July 22, 1964, David enlisted in the U.S. Navy. During his tour of duty he was stationed on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk and saw action off the coast of Viet Nam. On March 1, 1968, he was honorably discharged and returned to Litchfield. David was employed at Wilson-Jones Office Products Industry as a sales representative. Over the years he was promoted to a District Sales Manager. He was transferred to Los Angeles, California for several years then was moved to Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta he received his real estate license and was a realtor/ broker for Re-Max and several other companies.
On March 23, 2002, he married Jan Olsen in Atlanta. David continued to work as a realtor until he retired due to his failing health. They resided in Atlanta then moved to Carroll, Iowa in 2016.
David was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll and a member of the Carroll Lions Club. While in Atlanta he was a member of Rotary and the Corvette Club. David enjoyed boating, caring for his pets, and taking immaculate care of his lawn. He was an avid reader and read the newspaper from cover to cover every morning. David enjoyed people and could strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with Jan and their families.
Preceding him in death was his wife Carol Robbs; his daughter Angela Robbs; his parents; a brother Sherm Robbs; and his brothers-in-law Bob Montgomery, Tom Montgomery, and David Christensen.
Survivors include his wife Jan Robbs of Carroll, Iowa; his daughter Amy and husband Jeff Hines and their children Cameron and Grayson all of Kennesaw, Georgia; his step sons Doug and wife Nicki Olsen and their children Claire, Marcus, and Aaron all of Audubon, Iowa and Rob and wife Tracey Olsen and their children Connor, Jack, Grace, and Gage all of West Des Moines, Iowa; his brothers Don Robbs of Hawaii and Rick and wife Sherry Robbs of Denison, Iowa; his sister Shari and husband Dennis Smith of Fort Mojave, Arizona; his sisters-in-law Nancy Christensen of Harlan, Iowa and Carole Robbs of Kansas City, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Following cremation there will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 25, 2019, at 1:45 p.m..
