Debra Sue Adams, the daughter of Bobby and Leona (Brillhart) Lung, was born September 25, 1958, in Macomb, Illinois and died January 21, 2024, at the Jennie Edmundson Medical Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 65 years, 3 months, and 26 days.
Debra attended the Plymouth, Illinois community schools and high school. Debra was employed as a semi-truck driver. She drove over the road hauling freight across the country. Debra enjoyed seeing the many different areas of the United States along with parts of Canada and Mexico. After driving for a number of years, she worked as a dietary aide and cook at the Anita Nursing Home in Anita, Iowa. Later, Debra was employed as a Sales Associate at Walmart until she retired. Debra worked hard, but played harder!
Debra was an avid reader, loved books. She enjoyed watching movies, especially horror movies. She also loved True Crime and probably could have been a detective or a serial killer. Debra loved spending time with her family and friends and going on little “adventures”. Debra was obsessed with purple and animals, but mainly cats and red cardinals.
Preceding her in death was her father Bobby Lung; her brother Jason Dorethy, her Uncle "Danny" and all of her grandparents.
Survivors include her children Daniel and wife Jennifer Lung of Massena, Iowa, Amanda Lung of Canton, Illinois, and Casondra Adams and Paul Brown of Walnut, Iowa. Her Mother Leona Dorethy of Springfield, Illinois, her grandchildren; Kevin Simon of Glidden, Iowa, Morganne Logan of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Allyson Lung of Stuart, Iowa, Shayle Young of Walnut, Iowa, Nicole Julich and Jennifer Julich both of Maple River, Iowa, Nicole Brown of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Cory Brown of Omaha, Nebraska, and James Brown of Atlantic, Iowa; numerous great grandchildren; her siblings Robert Lung of Waynesville, Missouri, Roxanne Norford of Richmond, Virginia, Tammy Young of Reno, Nevada, and Mike Dorethy of Springfield, Illinois, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will have a Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00p.m. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa.
