Derrick Dane Nilson, the son of Emily Maynard and Daniel Schmeling was born into heaven on February 25, 2026 at Cass Health in Atlantic.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Anita with Pastor Lauri Boysen officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.
The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Anita.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family and can be sent in care of Schmidt Family Funeral Home to P.O. Box 523 Atlantic, Iowa 50022.
