Eddie Ray Mack

April 4, 1955 — September 1, 2022

Eddie Ray Mack, the son of Arthur Wilber and Mildred Elizabeth (Clark) Mack, was born April 4, 1955, in Clarinda, Iowa and died September 1, 2022, at his home in Hamlin, Iowa under Hospice care at the age of 67 years, 4 months, and 27 days.

Eddie was baptized as an adult at the Hamlin Lutheran Church. He attended school at Villisca then later received his GED. Eddie worked at a variety of jobs then was employed at Henningsen’s construction where he painted trucks.

In 1978, he married Rebecca Stormer. They were blessed with a daughter, Trina. They moved to Killeen, Texas where Eddie joined his brother Jim in operating a car lot for a few years before he returned to Iowa.

In 1984 he married Kathy Malone in Villisca, Iowa and they blended their families with Eddie Ray Jr., Todd, and Nikki. They lived in Harlan, Iowa. Eddie worked for Rasmussen Auto Salvage for a short time, then started his own salvage business. They lived in several communities around Audubon before settling in Hamlin, Iowa where they opened their business Midwest Hard Parts which he continued to operate until he retired due to his failing health.

Eddie was a member of the Hamlin Lutheran Church. Eddie and his friends enjoyed “hand” fishing, trapping, hunting; and watching westerns. He had a passion for classic “muscle” cars and loved being outdoors and camping. Eddie enjoyed making Christmas cookies with his grandchildren. But above all he loved being a grandfather and participating in his grandchildren’s many activities.

Preceding him in death was his son Kip Todd Mack; his parents Arthur and Mildred Mack; his brothers and sister Jim and wife Dimples McMillan, Betty and husband Chuck Gordon, and Richard Mack and sister-in-law, Ralene Knudsen and first wife, Rebecca Mack.

Survivors include his wife Kathy Mack of Hamlin, Iowa; his children Trina (Aaron) Sarsfield of Atlantic, Iowa, Eddie Ray Mack, Jr. of Hamlin, Iowa, and Nikki (Nathan) Johnson of Hamlin, Iowa; his grandchildren Colby, Collin, Connor, and Cayleigh Sarsfield, Gage, Drace, Paityn, and Paislee Johnson, and Raven Mack; his great grandchildren Nellie and Nova; his sisters and brother Connie Mack of Murray, Iowa, Nora Keller of Lyons, Nebraska, and Arthur Mack of Skidmore, Missouri, his brother-in-law Kip and wife Jenny Malone of Corning, Iowa and his sister-in-law Jane Mack of Greenfield, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
