Erma Thiessen

Erma Mae Thiessen, 100, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the Heritage House in Atlantic.

She was born December 19, 1915, to Henry and Amanda (Simpson) Shaneyfelt of Marquette, NE, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1933.

She married Dr. Ralph L. Weaver, M.D. and surgeon in 1941 and they made their home in Cumberland, Iowa. After Dr. Weaver's death in 1961, Erma married Harold I. Thiessen in 1967 and they made their home in Cumberland and later in Atlantic.

Erma demonstrated her compassionate heart through her career as a nurse aide in the old Atlantic hospital and in the new hospital in Atlantic. She enjoyed family, friends and many hobbies over the years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Charlotte Boudle and Sandra Ryan of Atlantic, IA; grandchildren, Brent (Lori) Boudle of Ozark, MO, Mike (Shari) Boudle of Fort Calhoun, NE, Shannon Boudle of Atlantic and Eric (Kathy) Ryan of Gilbert, AZ; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are both her parents; 6 brothers; one sister; two husbands; one infant daughter; one stepdaughter; one infant grandson; one great-granddaughter; and one son-in-law.

A private family committal service will be held in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic.
