Gary Ray Nichols, age 76, of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Anita, IA.

Gary is survived by his children; son, Terry Nichols of Adair, IA, daughter, Tammy Rangel of Garland, TX; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Anita American Legion Post 210 and may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 523, Atlantic, IA 50022.
