Geneva J Oakley

Geneva Jane Oakley, the daughter of Milton and Ethel (Randolph) Crees was born June 10, 1936, in Audubon County and died August 10, 2025, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa, at the age of 89 years and two months.

Geneva was baptized at the First Christian Church in Audubon, Iowa. She attended schools in Audubon County and graduated with the class of 1954.

On June 27, 1954, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Oakley at the Gray United Methodist Church. They were blessed with three daughters: Debra, Teresa, and Donna. Geneva was a full-time wife and mother. She also worked as a bookkeeper/clerk at several businesses in Audubon, including Audubon Lumber, Buds, DX, Big Bear, and Four Sons.

Preceding Geneva in death were her parents, Milton and Ethel; husband, Lloyd; daughter, Debra Lemke; brother, Lloyd Crees; sisters and brothers-in-law: Ramona (Abe) Daggett, Norma (Bill) Taggert, Mary (Ollie) Huitt, Jackie (Dan) Keasey, Barb Pritchard, Janice (Allen) Oakley, Merle Blake and Paul Wahlert; sisters-in-law: Dorothy (Frank) Schmidt, and Norma (Paul) Norris; brothers-in-law: George (Lois) Oakley, Jim (Mary) Oakley, Howard Oakley and Allen (Janice) Oakley.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Teresa (Roger) Boge of Klemme, Iowa, and Donna Murray (Rob Gidden) of Audubon, Iowa; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Lois (Larry) Thygesen, Ruby Blake, Delores Wahlert, and Shirley Keasey.

Public visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Audubon.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Audubon, IA. Interment will take place following the funeral at Maple Grove Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following the committal at the St. Patrick's Catholic Parish Center in Audubon.
