Gregory Andersen

December 19, 1959 — January 29, 2021

Born December 19, 1959, along with his twin brother, Jeff, Greg earned his wings January 29, 2021. He was the son of Darrel and Barb (Reynolds) Andersen of Anita. Darrel and Barb wanted a baby as soon as possible after marrying on March 8, 1959, and got a surprise on December 19th with twin boys. A very close twin connection was apparent right away, with Jeff making the mess and Greg cleaning it up, which actually continued into adulthood, according to Greg anyway. Jeff always says he got the best and left the rest for Greg. Their two younger siblings (Curtis and Amy) would not exactly agree with that.

Greg was united in marriage to Sherry Lank in April, 1982, and were blessed with two boys, Christopher Earl and Michael Leland.

Throughout his life Greg worked as a hired hand on farms and as a truck driver, with his most recent driving stent with A. M. Cohrons in Atlantic. Due to physical limitations Greg hadn't been able to work for much of the last 18 months.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, rock hunting, ditch digging for flowers and pretty much anything that put him in the great outdoors, but never, NEVER with shorts on!! Jeans and his work boots were his most favorite attire, as well as either a tee-shirt or one of his A. M. Cohrons sweatshirts. But Greg’s greatest love in his life were his children and grandchildren.

Greg went Home to be with our Lord and Savior and Mom, as well as many other family members who have gone before.

Left here with the memories to get us by are Dad; twin bro, Jeff (Annette) of Anita; brother, Curt of Atlantic; and sister, Amy (Don) Mardesen of Atlantic; as well as sons, Christopher Andersen of Cumberland and Michael (Megan) Andersen of Atlantic. And let's not forget the fantastic five (his grandchildren): Owen, MaKenna, Addisyn, Ryan and Connor.

There will be a celebration of life for Greg at a later date.

Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, IA, is in charge of the arrangements.
