HELEN SCHILLER

Helen K. (Ernst) Schiller, 88, of Casey, Iowa, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle, Iowa.
Helen Katherine Schiller was born July 25, 1918, in Adair, Iowa, the daughter of John and Theresa (Eden) Ernst. She attended school in Adair and lived there until she married Everett Schiller on November 14, 1938. The couple moved to Casey, Iowa, and lived there all their married life. Everett passed away January 6, 1976, and in February 2003, Helen moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle, Iowa.
She had worked as a cook at various local restaurants and was known for her pies. She loved to bake cakes, pies, cookies and homemade noodles for family dinners. She also enjoyed doing embroidery work on dish towels and pillow cases.
She was baptized, confirmed, and a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Casey, where she was a past member of the Lutheran Ladies Aide and the Alter Guild.
Helen is survived by her 2 sons; Kenneth and his wife Barbara, of Casey, IA, and Gene and his wife Kathy, of Des Moines, IA; 2 daughters, Marlene Horacek of Omaha, NE and Carol Seela of Casey, IA; 1 sister, Nona Endres of Fontanelle, IA; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Schiller; her parents, John and Theresa Ernst; 2 brothers, Howard and Paul Ernst; and 1 grandson, Scott Schiller.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Casey, Iowa. Visitation will start at 1:00 p.m. with family present from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15th at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Casey.
Interment will be in Dalmanutha Cemetery.
Hockenberry-Mullen Funeral Home in Casey, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
