Hilda Falconer

Hilda Marie Falconer, 90, of Adair, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016, at her home.

Hilda was born December 18, 1925, in Anita, Iowa, to Roy and Hazel (Gissible) Scholl. She attended Anita Schools and graduated from Anita High School with the class of 1943. After receiving Normal Training, she taught in a one room school house in the Anita area. She was married to Boyd Falconer July 14, 1945, when he returned from serving with the Army Air Corps in England. They farmed near Anita for four years before moving to the present farm south of Adair. She helped Boyd with the farming throughout their marriage. She lived her entire life in the Anita and Adair area.

Hilda was a member of the United Methodist Church in Anita, the Order of the Eastern Star and P.E.O. She enjoyed quilting, was an avid reader, liked to garden with flowers and vegetables, and was very adept at cooking and baking.

Preceding Hilda in death were her parents, Roy and Hazel Scholl; her husband, Boyd, brother/sister-in-law, Edwin and Ruby Scholl; and several nieces and nephews.

Those surviving Hilda are her children, Alan Falconer and his friend, Janet Ramsey both of Des Moines, IA, Jule Falconer of Mt. Vernon, IA and Janilyn Falconer of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Zachariah Falconer-Stout of Frazier, CO, Kaitlyn (Steven) House of Kansas City, MO and Gabriel Stout of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Richard Boyd House and Jack Steven House; sisters, Doris Scarlett of Anita, IA (formerly of Adair), and Rosalie (Gene) Kopp of Anita, IA; and a brother, Harold (Phyllis) Scholl of Adair, IA.

Visitation with family will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 29, 2016, at Hockenberry Family Care in Anita, Iowa.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Anita, Iowa, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.

Memorials are suggested to the Adair Fire and Rescue, the United Methodist Women's Auxiliary in Anita, or P.E.O. Chapter EZ, Anita, IA.
