Jacquelyn Sievers

September 13, 1952 — December 13, 2018

Jackie Lee Sievers, 66, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 13, 2018. Jackie and Chuck, her husband of 47 years, had just finished enjoying Chuck’s retirement party at Deter Motors.

Jackie was born September 13, 1952, at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, to parents, Lorene and Karl Aldag. Since Karl was in the Air Force, Jackie and her mom spent most of her first year or so on the road between Texas and California, as Karl was getting deployed to Korea. Upon his return to the United States, Karl reunited with his wife and daughter in New York where they lived until Jackie turned two. The family then relocated to Atlantic, Iowa. For the remainder of her life, other than some time spent at the University of Iowa, her address was always in Atlantic.

Jackie was a devoted worker. She began a very enjoyable and rewarding career as a dental assistant for Dr. Carrol Trewet, which lasted 35 years. Upon retiring from her work with Dr. Trewet, she spent 12 years at Cass, Inc. During this time, she worked tirelessly to bless those she had the privilege of serving. She had been fully retired since 2015.

Jackie was involved for dozens of years in multiple church service organizations. Her faith and servant heart were readily seen in the many volunteer positions she eagerly joined. In 1997, she and Dr. Fake from Denison went on a combination dentistry/Christian mission trip to the Philippines. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic for more than 60 years.

Jackie and Chuck were blessed with three beautiful and caring daughters and sons-in-law. From these marriages, they were additionally blessed with five granddaughters and two grandsons. Jackie was nothing short of an excellent grandma, and spending time with her seven grandkids was one of her biggest passions.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Chuck, of Atlantic, as well as daughters Alison (Chuck) Luin of Olathe, Kansas; Jennifer (Andy) Elston of Waukee, Iowa; and Abby (Mike) Baines of Batavia, Illinois. She is also survived by grandchildren Zoey and Ethan Luin, Avery and Grace Elston, and Mathew, Gabby, and Hadley Baines, as well as her mother, Lorene Aldag, brother Craig (Jodi) and sons Luke and Nick Aldag, and sister Jodi (Randy) and sons Eric and Tyler Christoffersen, sister-in-law Ruth (Dan) Heilig and their children Carrie and Brian. She was preceded in death by her father, Karl, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lil and Walt Sievers.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic, Iowa.
