Jeffery Feltner

September 10, 1966 — December 23, 2020

Jeffery Darrin Feltner passed away December 23, 2020, at the age of 54 years and 3 months. He was born in Atlantic at the Atlantic Memorial Hospital on September 10, 1966.

Jeff lived his entire life in Cass County. He graduated from Atlantic High School in 1984 at the age of 17. He loved fishing, hunting, and trapping, and was an avid reader. He loved to tell stories of his large fish, which grew bigger each time he told the story. Jeff would then start to take out photos of these fish, and some of them were huge!

As a kid he mowed lawns, detasseled corn, sold fresh caught fish, and trapped muskrats. Jeff even picked up golf balls at the golf course and sold them back to the golfers for a quarter each! He could always think of a way to make a dollar. In his early years, he was a carpenter’s helper, he pushed snow in the winter for a couple of employers and worked for the city street department. Jeff was also foreman and laborer for Henningsen Constriction and did concrete work for Andersen Construction. Most recently he worked for P.C.S. Construction and United Construction. Jeff was a concrete finisher and took pride in his work.

He attended the Nazarene Church as a child. He was always willing to help anyone out, especially his mother.

Preceding him in death was his father, Marlan “Pete” Feltner Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Rossell of Atlantic; and daughter, Ciara Dawn Feltner of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Darla (Perry) Wilson of Montezuma and Robin Siemer of Denison; two brothers, Marlan “Bart” Feltner Jr. of Exira and Cory (Brandi) Feltner of Griswold; four nephews and two nieces, Mitch (Julie) Wilson of NC, Shelby Wilson of Montezuma, Zac Siemer of Omaha, Renea (Rahul) Attraya of Chicago, Taber Feltner of Iowa City and Tosh Feltner of Griswold.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Atlantic Cemetery, with Pastor Jerry Neal officiating. A luncheon will be held, following the graveside service, in the community room at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home.

Arrangements are being handled by the staff at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa.
