Jeffrey Neighbors

Jeffrey Lyn Neighbors, 48 of Anita, Iowa, and formerly of Modesto, California, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in Anita, Iowa.

He was born October 24, 1968, in Modesto, California, the son of Bill and Sandra (Wright) Neighbors. Jeff attended grade school in Salida, California, and graduated from Modesto High School in Modesto, California.

Jeff worked several years as a chef at the Barnwood restaurant in Ripon, California, and while there, he was also the chef on the wine trains that ran from Riverbank, CA, to Oakland, CA. Jeff also worked at the Anita locker in Anita, IA, for several years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bille; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Omie Neighbors and his maternal grandparents, Norman and Opal Wright.

Jeff is survived by a son, Aaron Neighbors of Modesto, CA; his mother, Sandra Neighbors of Anita, IA; sisters, Cheryl (Ron) Jensen and Leeann (Jim) Denney both of Anita, IA; nephews, Nick (Stephanie) Rote of Albia, IA, Ryan (Jessica) Rote of Centerville, IA, Chance Denney of Anita, IA, Justin (Megan) Denney of DeRidder, LA, Jerrid (Jessica) Denney of Dexter, IA; an uncle, Gary (Judy) Neighbors of Anita, IA; an aunt, Kathy (Chris) Meyer of Atlantic, IA and other relatives and friends.

In accordance with Jeff’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a private family service at a later date.
