Jerame Brooks

Jerame Todd Brooks, 46, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.

Jerame was born October 29, 1971, in Omaha, Nebraska, to William Brooks and Debra (Benson) Blum. He grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Jerame attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs and after high school, he attended Universal Technical Institute in Omaha where he studied heating and refrigeration.

He also lived in Walnut and has lived in Atlantic for twelve years. Jerame was employed at Future Foam in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Jerame married Tawnya Waddell on September 16, 2000, in Walnut, Iowa.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking, and he was an avid fisherman and animal lover. He also loved to go camping and spending time with his children and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Brooks; a daughter, Maranda Lynn Brooks; his father/mother-in-law, Dale and Nancy Waddell; and a grandmother, Lela Wymore.

Jerame is survived by his wife, Tawnya Brooks of Atlantic, IA; his children, Matthew Brooks of Council Bluffs, IA, Zachary Brooks (Brianne Munsey), Kasandra Brooks (Keaton Wise), and Kaylee Brooks all of Atlantic, IA; a granddaughter, Julia Rose Brooks of Atlantic, IA; his parents, Greg and Debra Blum of Council Bluffs, IA; 3 sisters, Heather LeVier of Council Bluffs, IA, Nicole (Troy) Reeves of Bellevue, NE and Brandi (Joe) Hoverson of Wolsey, SD; a brother, Rob (Lynn) Blum of Council Bluffs, IA; twin brothers, Bryan Keller of Council Bluffs, IA and Brad Keller of Utah; grandfather, Lavern Wymore of Council Bluffs, IA; brother-in-law, J.D. Waddell of Atlantic, IA, and a sister-in-law, Jasmyne Oasay-Waddell, daughter of Kristin Waddell of Atlantic, IA.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa.

Please join the family for a meal at the Atlantic Inn & Suites, next door to Hockenberry Family Care, in the conference room, between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 p.m.

Memorials may be left to the family’s wishes to be designated at a later date.
