Joey Williams

Joseph "Joey Wagner" Williams, 28, of Atlantic, Iowa, and formerly of Salem, Oregon, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015, at his residence in Atlantic, Iowa.

Joey was born December 26, 1986, in Atlantic, Iowa, to David and Tammy (Luke) Wagner. He graduated from Griswold High School in 2005. He loved working as a barista at Starbucks. He had also been a cashier at Fareway Stores and a waiter at the Downtowner in Atlantic.

He was married to Cody Williams on December 24, 2013, in Cumberland, Iowa. Joey had lived in the Portland and Salem, Oregon, area for the past 10 years before returning to Atlantic.

Joey enjoyed bowling, traveling and visiting large cities. He also liked to go shopping, attending wine tasting events, music, singing and dancing, crocheting, and he loved to cook, bake, and canning produce.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Morris and Marylin Luke and Margaret Wagner.

Joey is survived by his spouse, Cody Williams of Salem, OR; mother, Tammy (Rod) Penton of Cumberland, IA; father, David Wagner of Glenwood, IA; sister, Dawn (Bill) McCrory of Atlantic, IA; step-brother, Brad (Dawn) Penton of Cumberland, IA; grandfather, Gary Wagner of Des Moines, IA; cousins, Tanya Luke and daughter Dakota of Harlan, IA, Jessica Luke of Oakland, IA and Ryan (Kelsey) Luke of Black Creek, WI; uncles, Ward Luke of Carson, IA, Kurt Luke of Lewis, IA and Matt (Tammy) Luke of Anita, IA; aunt, Lisa Luke and daughter Shayla of Atlantic, IA; nieces, Ayla, Tyra and Emma Penton of Cumberland, IA and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, IA.

Memorials are preferred to the family's wishes.
