John Lee Blevins

John Lee Blevins, 86 years of age, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa.
John was born on June 28, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the son of John Blevins and Dorothy Coyle and the oldest of four siblings. After high school, John joined the United States Air Force and served most of his time at Offutt Air Force Base.
He drove for various trucking companies over the years, and thoroughly enjoyed trucking over the road. Near the end of his days, he enjoyed telling stories of his life, and remembering memories of times with family and friends. Most would say he had an ornery side, and he lived up to that, right until the end.
John is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Coyle) Blevins, his father, John Blevins, sister Barbra Doyle, brother Larry Blevins, his daughter, Michelle Blevins, his son, Scott Blevins, his daughter, Diane Easterday, his nephew, Jeffery Doyle, his granddaughter, Melanie Blevins, a great-grandson, Isaiah, and great-granddaughter, Cambrie.
John is survived by his sister, Susan Crow; his children John Blevins Jr. (Helen Blevins), Juanita Blevins, Brian Blevins (Fiance Melissa McClaskey), Todd Blevins (Dixie Blevins), Michael Blevins (Denise), several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Services are pending.
