John Maxwell

John Alan Maxwell, 39, of Walnut, Iowa, and formerly of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016, as a result of an automobile accident west of Atlantic, Iowa.

John was born October 10, 1976, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Steve and Mary (Ping) Maxwell. Growing up, John attended school in Atlantic. He graduated from Atlantic High School in 1995 and then attended Iowa Western Community College. He had been a resident of the Atlantic area all of his life.

John worked as a shift manager at Burger King in Atlantic. He enjoyed bowling, on line gaming, and the World Wrestling Entertainment.

He was a member of the Atlantic Bowling League.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Mary; a brother, James Denny; and a sister, Melissa; a niece and two nephews.
John is survived by his father, Steve Maxwell of Atlantic, IA; sisters, Rachael Maxwell and fiancé, Chad Litty of Atlantic, IA and Susan (Vince) Infantino of Maryville, MO; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Atlantic Senior Center in Atlantic, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to their father, Stephen Maxwell, 501 West 10th Street, Atlantic, IA 50022.
